Sucre
Sucre,
the judicial capital of Bolivia, is definitely Bolivia’s most beautiful
city. Called the city of four
names “Sucre”, “Charcas,” “Chuquisaca” and “La Cuidad Blanca” holds some of
Bolivia’s most historic buildings. On August 11th 1825 Simon Bolivar officially named
Sucre in honor of General Antonio Jose de Sucre, the first promoter Bolivia’s
independence from the Spanish Viceroyalty in Buenos Aires.
I spent 3 days in Sucre, and stayed just 2 blocks
from the main plaza. From the
main plaza you can go walk to just about every part of the city. “La Casa de la Libertad”, where
Simon Bolivar declared Bolivia independent on August 6th 1825 is
right of the plaza. You can
take of tour of the house, were it holds the first flag of independent Argentina
and the sword of Antonio Jose de Sucre.
About 10 blocks from the main plaza
you can walk to “La Plaza Bolivar” and see the Supreme Court of Bolivia and
walk the plaza. From here you
can see the “Arbol Millionario” and a replica of the Ifel Tower.
The supreme court of Boliva.
