The Blues

I don't know what it is, but I seem to have the blues all the time. What is going on! I think that I'm a person who doesn't do well living alone. Don't get me wrong, I like the fact that my place is clean and decorated the way I like. But it's way to quiet. I can't stand it. I can't get myself to go to sleep, something about layin in bed, staring at the shadows, the hum of the furnace, .... I don't know. I need noise, interruptions, unrest! That's what I need to relax! Ok, I need to get motivated, huge report due today! WRITE WRITE WRITE!

Oh yea, last night, I watched 4 hours of TV, ... so it sounds bad at first, but the USA special "Helen of Troy" was on. Both parts, back to back. It was actually really good, but then again. I'm a bit rusty on my Greek and Roman mythology so I don't know how accurate it was. Never the less, is was entertianing. No more "real" tv shows... "Mr. Personality" , "American Idol" .. . they are all banned from my house.

Self Control

Enough is enough! I have determined that the time has come, I need intervention. Things have gotten out of control and I need help. So, yesterday I called my local cable company, and .... cancelled my service! That's right! I will no longer have 251+ channels of endless, minddumbing entertainment. I will now have only 12. Ok, so I couldn't bring myself to cut off the TV 100%, but I'm down to a 96% reduction. I think that it notable. After watching shows like "Mr. Personality", reruns of "Cheers", and "South Park", I reliezed how much time I am really wasting. Let's recap:

Sunday: Back from the airport 10:30, cleaned up room a bit, then watched TV til 1am!!!!!!!
Monday: Return home at 9:30, from the driving range. watched TV til 1:30am!!!!!
Tuesday: not to bad of a night, only 1 hour of TV.

Total for week: 2.5+4+1 = 7.5hrs! Full day of work!

Saginaw Classics

Well, Easter weekend has gone and passed. I had a awesome time, visiting with my family and friends seemed more refreshing then ever before. I think that living so far away from home is giving me a better appreciatation for the people I have in my life. Sam and Miguel both came home on Saturday, in time to see my Grandpa come out of surgery. I couldn't go, since I am sick, but his triple bypass went well, and he has already been moved out of intensive care.

Our little house on Curwood St. seemed tranquil, and an oasis of calm thoughts. Dad in his recliner watching TV and Mom making sure that I had some hot tea to help my sore throat. The house was clean as usual, green plants in the living room, and a jar of half eaten peanuts next to the fireplace. Dad loves Cashews. The new lawn mover in the garage.. a riding lawn mover to be exact.... invites guests' questions and queries on Dad's newest power toy. My Mom is looking to buy a SUV, doesn't seem like a Centellas type of vehicle but it's needed to help transport my Mom's amigo. She's been real excited everytime she sees one of the cars from the TV comercials driving down the road. It's nice to know that my parents are able to buy such things.

Nights with old friends was awesome, I love seeing everyone from highschool and getting a chance to catch up. I also had a chance to beat James uring the day two times out of money. Once at the mall, racing on the mountain wall... 20 seconds, put 10 bucks in my pocket. Second at the pool hall, 5 bucks. Not bad. " Well, I guess that sums it up. It was a great time, I flew in, so I wasn't so tired from a 10 hour drive. I guess til next time I come home, CIAO!

... calling in

Friday night: Party at University if Deleware. It was pretty cool, I got digits, it's a good start. I was awesome to see College kids again, I went with 4 other guys I worked with. I didn't drink to much, but Saturday I was so sick. I think I might have gotten posioning of something. Man, I could barely move, and then I tried to call in to work.. and my phone hung up. I didn't even call again. OPpss, looks like I might be fired from Chi Chi's . Oh well, I mean it's not like it's real important to me but I feel bad. Honestly, I was so sick. I threw on Sat all day, like 25 times! It was nuts. I can't believe how sick I was. Now, it's 1:30am, on sunday. I drank some Mate de Coca and now I feel so alive. I was going to go to the hospital, but it all passed.

Well, I wasted half of my weekend. But Sunday is a new day. We'll see how it goes. I'm trying to write more, read more, and work harder. It's going ok, maybe not having a second job will help me concentrate on what I should. We'll see. Ciao.

20/20 Hindsight

I've been reading "Trail of Feathers", a book about travels and myseteries in mid-western South America. You know, I wish I would have read this book before I went to South America last year. There are so many interesting and cool places that I never knew about. Man, I mean, last trip to SA I had the time of my life, .... I guess that's what a good adventure novel does to you. Makes you want to charge off and be a Indy Jones. Oh well, just thought I'd let you know!

Interesting things to Read about:
Nasca Lines : Peru
Machu Piccu: Peru
Paracas Peninsula: Peru

Davidian's

I just finished watching "Waco: The Rules of Engagement" a 1997 Oscar nominee documentary about the Branch Davidians. I must say that this is one of the best documentaries that I have ever seen. I never knew much about the situation, I remember reading about the events when I was 13, and I must say this film was a eye opener. Gives great evidence to evident ATF and FBI overindulgence in a power struggle. The film completely removes any if not all the religious implications in the situation and acts as a objective storyteller. Definetly a must watch. On digital cable I get a documentary channel. Pretty awesome!

Special notes: Rinco Latino: Peruvian restuarant in DE. Very good! But no Peruvian Beer, just Hieniken.

Happy Birthday DAD and Novi!

28 ozs and still going

I just got back, well actually I got back last night, from my business trip to Nashville, TN. It was very short, but definetly a great trip. Nashville has got to be one of the best cities in the US. Printers Alley, Night Clubs, The Grand Ol Oprey, and lot lots more. I spent most of my night eating and talking with my boss and a co-worker. We had a meeting the following day and were relaxing at a steak house in preperation. I ordered a 28oz Porter House. I can't believe it, but I ate the whole thing, aswell as my salad, baked potatoe, bread and drank a beer! It didn't even phase me, I could have eaten more. It was truly a memorable feet, and I spent the remainder of the night badazzled by my ability to eat large cuts of greasy steaks.

Surprisingly, i have been working out again, and reading more. Currently reading two books, "Trial of Feathers" and "Atlas Shrugged." Both great novels. "Trial of Feathers" is so interesting since I've been to almost every city the author of the book is writing about; it's a tale of a traveler unraveling the mysteries of the Incan Birdman. Great book, highly recommened. Thanks mom!

I've also decided to learn Italian and fulfill my goal of being tri-lingual before I leave college. I must and will. I know Italian is not that off from Spanish, but it's a language, do you know three?!?! .... tsk tsk tsk.....

Well, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIGUEL, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD AND NOVALI! See eveyone soon, can't wait to see you all. I'm sure we all have some great stories to tell! CIAO!
