Watch the Advertisements and .... well. ... just watch them ....

Oh my godness, has bush reached all on new low? His latest campaign ads tries to spin Moveon.org's images linking hiltlar to Bush, is horrible. Trust me ... you gotta see this.

Watch it here www.GeorgeBush.com

The real "Fahrenheit"

Ray Bradbury, author of "Fahrenheit 451" was recently on an interview on MSN-hardbal and is very upset with Micheal Moore. Moore never asked to use Bradbury's title and Mr. Bradbury is saying that Moore stole his title and never called or asked. Bradbury says he novel is a social and philosphical novel and has no political agenda and wants Moore to give him back his title. He says he only found out of the title 6 months ago by reading it in a newspaper article. Bradbury says he doesn't want any of the profits just his title back. Moore he yet to recontact Mr. Bradbury. Check it out on

Bradbury's writing and play are far reaching and used in almost all schools as required readings. He doesn't feel it's fair for Moore to use his title since he had no involvement in the movie nor was ever even asked.

Things that happen

I need to vent, so just let me write, no question please.

Things happen in life. Somethings we can change, somethings we wish we could, and others that we wished we would have. I wish tonight would never have happened. But that was just 30 minutes ago. Life at the apartment will never be the same, life as a brother will never be the same. Somepeople I wish I never would have met. But in life, you learn to take the good with the bad. But what we forget to see, is that this bad... as little as it may be, can be a lot worse than we imagined. It can grow and mustar. It can overcome all the good. The problem is ... that good isn't something seperate, it's you, and before you know it .... you been changed.

Luckily I have friends, family and a special loved one (Saloumeh) who are always there. Never asking questions, just listening. Always able to see the real person within. Always able to make you smile.

I just needed to write, that is what a blog is for. Blog.

Anywho, I finished my presentation for tomorrow. I spelled Dam as Damn ... good thing I emailed it to my professor (She pointed it out) for review ... I'm still debating if that was a good thing or not.

911 revisited

David Sterrit of the "Christian Science Monitor", www.csmonitor.com gives a good interview on MSNNBC -RightNow about Fahrenheit 911. View it at msnvideo.msn.com . Sterrit gives the movie very a positive review and talks about the possible FCC ad ban for "Fahrenheit 911".

Anywho ... what did I think about the movie. comparing it to other Micheal Moore films and as a documentary in general I really thought it was good and better then his other films. He does not lead the audience as much as other films and provides more uncut footage. The case he builds is definetly interesting and persuasive. I don't want to give away to much and I really suggest people see the film. But before you see the film, read the issues.... There are a lot of current books and investigations going. Like Powells' admittal that sources and information in April's Global Terrosism Report was incorrect and that data collection was wrong. This report was audited from Princeton and Stanford concluded that the conclusion from this report, stating that control of terrosism is increasing and we are prevailing, is actually false. Terrorism has actually reached an all time high. Specifically these reports mention the investigations of WMD. Powel admitts embarrasment and the misleading of the reports in "Meet the press", May 2004. Ouch...
Observatory

Last night we did something we've both have always wanted to do. We went to, at night, to watch a meteor shower. We heard that the MSU department of astronomy sponsers monthly public touring of the observatory and set ups telescopes for public viewing. Unfortunatly, there was no meteor shower, but they did have the large telescope focused on the moon. It is really beautiful, the close up was about a mile wide view of the moon's surface, making the moutains and craters really visible. They also had a group of graduate students outside, focusing high-power telescopes on other various stars and planets. Really cool, especially the high-powered green lazer pointer they use to point into the sky ... :)

Anywho, here is a picture of the observatory and a picture of the moon's surface. :)

I have a car ... but where is it?

It is official... I am the proud owner of a 1996 Sable with low miles and the potenial for neon lights and bass. Just kidding, no neons ... sorry Sam, I think that's just lame. Anywho, thanks to my good friend Dominique, I have a car waiting and ready for me. The only problem, it's in Delaware. But fear not, I'll be there in about 2 weeks to take my baby out for a test drive. :) Also, a big thanks to Maya for letting us store it at your house.

This past week, Saloumeh and I have been road warriers. Taking a break from studying to hit up "Club Soda" (Kalamazoo) for latin night with Sam. We danced, drank (A little) and then said our goodbyes and drove back to Lansing. Sam is moving to Oregon for a summer job. Saturday we headed to Saginaw to visit the parents and wish my father a happy father's day.

Oh yea.. I included my graduation foto ... don't worry mom, I bought two of them. They are so expensive.. the university hires fotographers to take your picture, then they email a thumbnail in hopes that you'll buy one ...

Classics in Shorts .... oh yea .. and mosquitos ..

Last night, Saloumeh and I took a break from classes and work to go to the summer circle theatre, www.summercircle.org . Sponsored partly by MSU, but mostly from the donations of theatre goers. The plays start at 8pm, rain or shine ... but rain isn't really the problem ... it's the mosquitos! Anywho, it's free and actually really well performed. This week's performance is "Classics in Shorts". Hilariosly abbrevaited versions of different classic plays, from greek to roman. Version of Medea, Oedipus, and Eurydice ... wish I had brushed up on my methology and classics! The shorts were so funny, and the crowd was great. College students and middle agers with sandwhiches and Wine ... a few beer drinkers with thier $5 little ceaser large pizza ... All in all .. a great night. :)

The picture other picture below is of the parlor. Saloumeh and I like to go there for ice-cream. They give the hugest portions for real cheap! :) MMM... superman icecream ...

miguel would love this

... thursday is the final test, the day two mac addicts have been waiting for. They've talked about it, pointed out the prices in mac-mall magizine, bought the cube in hopes to impress .... but this thursday is the test. I, along with my entire class, will head to the largest Mac-lab on campus and learn how to use iMovie from the apple rep. I know know, all you windows users out there are scared. Will Andres switch to a mac. Will he find iMovie 100times better then the windows imitation Moviemaker (only came with WindowsME). Our assignment for class is to create a 5-6 minute documentary of the galveston food, using iMovie. Now, I've been on the edge whether to switch from the Windows platform, to the mac. This just might do it. I have been far to lazy to learn how to use iMovie and the new OS X. Now, there's no escaping it..... I know ... it's scary ... but maybe ... you'll all come over one day .... to find a cute little pick ibook with an illumisious keyboard .... scary ....

Nemo and Pirates .. oh my!

RealNetworks has just announced that they will be offering a new service called Starz Ticket, a service that will allow users to download and play movies from thier own broadband connection. AWESOME! Supposedly it's only going to cost about 12.95 for unlimited accesss to the 100 different movies offered each month. If only this would have been avaliable 2 yrs ago while I was on campus more ... so I could play movies while I studied!

Anywho .. I just thought this was cool. If you want to see more check out the NY times article, "Selling 'Nemo' Online, Trying to RepelPirates".

Soccer

I got a chance to watch the France v. England in the Euro 2004 finals ... france won a terrible victory (2-1) by a penalty goal in the 92nd minute! Edouard went screaming around the house like a french mad-man ... craving bigots and cheese. Anywho, it was nice to watch quaility soccer for once, but it made me sad. It will be a long time since I'll, or any Bolivian, get a chance to watch our country man run the fields in a world cup game. Last time we played was in 94' .... I won't repeat what happened .. but at least we scored one world cup goal. Right now Bolivia is dead last in the South America group ... and with no good players in the oven ,,, it just might be another 44 years til we make it to the cup again...

Hey! What happened!

... I think my blog has lost it's purpose ... I know that's kinda of reverse logic since Blogs are supposed to be just daily rants (blogs). But what happened to all my faithful readers! You may ask .. what happened to all your posts! I don't know.... Miguel's has a political focus, Sam's is turning into a Car forum/Chat room ;) Time to restructure. Here are some options for themes

1) The Brett Hoffman rant.... Brett Hoffman all day long (Graphics and sounds ... hmmm..)
2) Weightlifting (Pictures of me lifting wieghts in a tight sweatsuit)
3) Amazing stories of Atken Dieters? (Maybe Sam could be one! LOL!)

... if anything comes to your minds.. just let me know!

What is it about Rock?

What is about a good Rock song, ... the ones you've never heard before ... but when you hear it for the first time, you feel like you know everyword. You start to remember places and times forgetten, times only a good rock song can make you remember? What is it? I'm at the Library listening to webcasts, trying to write a paper (Disasters and the world: effect of different narative genres), but suddenly a song comes on and takes my mind away. Makes me reminiss.. makes me blog and not spellcheck! (I can't spell check, I don't want to!) ;) I just write what comes out! :)

Anywho, I'm gonna go back to listening to the radio ... I mean writing my paper. :)
Oh Nelly

"fahrenheit 911" Micheal Moore's lasted film is said to be released June 25th, Nationwide ... Just in time for the summer race. I've actually heard so much about this film and just watched the trailor ... http://www.fahrenheit911.com .. it's definetly going to be more popular than "Bowling for Columbine". I have mixed feelings about Moore .... and his films, but I def. going to go see it. But not before I watch Harry Potter III :) Oh yea.. my bog has been lonely ... I'm showing it some love ... you should too!

Beautiful Days and mounting excitement

I know now that I will miss MSU. Today, I rode my nbike (Kelly's old bike) to campus to go study and write a paper. ... and as I rode through campus the Beaumont tower bells were ringing and the Beal garden tours had begun. It's beautiful. Everything is green, no cars, famlies walking around and couples having picinics in the grass. MSU really has a beautiful campus.

On another note, my excitement is starting to mount. I got a 4.0 in one of my Capstone midterms and graduation is really coming into sight. But not just that ,.. I found a place to live in Delaware. I will be living with my friends Josh and Brian. They both work for DuPont and we all interned together. They have a 3 bedroom townhouse ... good price ... nice area .. what more could I want. A car?!?! I've been having mixed feeling about this. I want a car ... but I just feel they are so expensive and bad on gas. I'm currently looking into a low priced KIA ... :( ... or the Honda Civic Hybrid.... Any suggestion out there?

The weather!!!

It's finally starting to get nice out! IT feels awesome! This weekend is going to be all about, sitting in the sun reading, swimming, and hopefully playing some soccer. As soon as I stepped outside and the sun was beating down, not a cloud in the sky .... I got a burst of energy. I might just have to go for a job today ... time to get into shape!

Ouch! Grades can hurt

The summer semester is well on it's way ... this is mid-term week. I've already recieved the results from my first exam ... and it's not so good. It's hard for me to say this ... but at least I passed! ha ha ha! I'm trying not to be one of those people whose doesn't care about school anymore during their last semester, but I just have to many classes to have time to care. At least I'm attending every class (haven't missed one yet) reading all the material ... and barely sliding by! Oh well ... 4 more weeks to go.

4 more weeks to go! Then what ... that's the big question on most people's mind ... but for me, the hard part has been, is that I know where I'm going to next .. That's the hard part. It's hard to be stuck in this transition stage .. both feet at MSU, while my mind is elsehwere. I don't know how my friends have been putting up with me. Maybe it's just because I am stuck here ... literally. Not having a car... limited bus transportation .. and having to finish school is really wearing me out. I feel like I've turned this blog into a complain outlet. :)

Well ... enough of this rambling and complaining. I have another mid-term in about a hour and I need to review some notes. I have 1 hr to absord 7 chapters and 200 slides ... :)
