Macworld Expo

01.07.2003

For those of you in the know, today was Steve Jobs' keynote address at the 2003 Macworld Expo in San Francisco. As always, Jobs is amazing at motivating the Mac faithful. Ah. Some day I want to make the pilgrimage.

I'm sure there'll be comprehensive coverage of Macworld and Jobs' keynote on TechTV tonight. I really want to see what the Screen Savers will say about it. They hyped it up last night. Yeah, the annual Macworld is usually an industry-shaking event.

What's new w/ Apple? New versions of iMovie and iPhoto (both available on 25 January), along w/ other software goodies. Apple is introducing its own web browser (finally!) called Safari available today (yes! yes!) as a public beta. Jobs also presented a new application called Keynote, used for über slide show presentations.

Unfortunately, I had to run to work as a lowly TA and will probably miss an amazing announcement. The online rummor mill suggested a new laptop configuration is coming. There's about a half hour left in Jobs' keynote ... and he still hasn't spoken about hardware. But I have to run ... zoot alors! I'll have to watch the webcast again when I get out of work.
