I finally had my day in court against Markeet Primer. He was caught riding my stolen Bianchi-Snark on 12 August. We've been trying to get our court date for a long, long time. At 2:30pm, several Moped Army members strolled into Kalamazoo's Circuit Court Family Division.

The court appointed attorney was a real slimeball. He tried to sell the judge a story about how Markeet had been going home (well after midnight) and his bike broke down (which he left in our parking lot). So he stopped and bought a moped (w/ a missing front wheel) from "some guy" for $25 because "he knew where he could find a wheel." That's funny, because my moped was recovered w/ Dan's Carabela wheel on it (which was also stolen that night). I'm glad the judge saw past all that and convicted on the charge of receiving and conceiling stolen property.

I do feel bad for his Mother though, since she's stuck paying the damages and court costs. I hope the kid learns ... although he's already in the adult legal system for other illegalities. He'll just end up another prison statistic.

We're still hoping to get our day in court w/ this guy.

holy cow...that's crazy. (this is the Joshes and Bay's friend Ryan...we've bumped into eachother on their journals) Glad you got your bike back and administered sweet sweet justice to the young perpetratin' thug, yo.

I read your posts for this week. Very interesting writing, I passed on your URL to James Tiderington. He's starting to get into a lot of Political groups and I think you offer sound good writing on "current" issues. A

Anyways,... so Justice is yours.. or not... remember the day you came home with that new "Moped." Trust me, I like the one you have now a lot better, and I'm still interested in used one for this summer.
