Apologies for photo delays
06.02.2004Yes. I promised interesting photos. And I've only managed a few lately. Sorry. Been running around, often forgetting my camera in the process. Also, some pictures are hard to take. Not sure how to take pictures of Bolivian food. And the teachers' strike makes taking pictures of school kids difficult. Also, pictures of houses are difficult, since most have high walls around them blocking them from the street. But I'll figure this out, fret not.
Also, if anyone can help me w/ some CSS ... I've noticed my blog doesn't look the same on Windoze machines as on Apple (regardless of browser). On the sidebar (look left), there should be 20 pixels between the two little pictures & the banner. This requires the following CSS code:
#sidebar ul.top {
padding: 40px 0px 20px 0px;
}
Why does this produce a large gap in the Windoze pages? Scratching my head here. Here's my entire style sheet.

Don't worry about the pictures. You can take all the pictures you want when u've completed the chunk of work for your thesis.

I don't know the answer to your CSS problem, but I thought I'd mention that the 20 pixel space is correct on the (mozilla-based) browsers I used on Linux.

So it might just be an MS/IE problem? It's the only non-Apple browser I've tested it on.

That seems to be the case. I tried your page in Windows XP on both Firefox 0.8 and Mozilla 1.7 and both browsers show the page with correct spacing. Not surprising, but unfortunately the vast majority of Windows internet users still use IE.

Yes, you're probably right. I think it's a problem w/ how IE renderes some CSS.
