Matt & April got married

The wedding was such a blast. Up through most of the night under a full moon down by the Saginaw River. A buffet w/ food fresh from the Hemmeter (April's family) farm. A reunion of townies who've wandered away & townies who stayed. A bride who disappeared around 2am on a carriage bicycle, returning w/ a grease-stained wedding dress. A slow, bleary eyed morning after w/ the rest of the wedding party.
It was great to be back w/ the guys I spent my high school years w/. Sure, they married, got kids, got jobs. And, I'm the single guy, still in school, still w/o a real job. But it's a great life — theirs & mine. I was honored to give the toast, happy to spend several nights w/ cases of Miller Lite & old friends.
I hope Matt & April enjoy their honeymoon in Petoskey. That part of Michigan's beautiful this time of year.
