Hello, new semester

08.30.2004

I gave myself the luxury of sleeping in past noon for the last day today, then headed down to campus to do some last-minute Fall semester prepping. Finally registered for 6 credits of dissertation writing, check. Picked up the key to my office (3438 Friedmann Hall), check. Picked up 61 copies of my course syllabus, check. Manage to get lost on campus during Bronco Bash & not find Kohrman Hall, double check.

I did forget to get a new student ID (I can't find my old one & need it for free rec center privileges) or to re-set up my laptop for the campus wireless.

After a stopover at Rocket Star Café & two games of pool w/ Josh Upson, I rode out to the departmental picnic at Dr. Corder's house. Some good food & pleasant conversation w/ other grad students & faculty.

Now I'm back home, waiting to see Daily Show coverage of the RNC (which should be hilarious). A bit more painting, then putting my kitchen & living room back together plus clearing out my bedroom in anticipation of painting it this week. Tomorrow I wake up bright & early at 8:15 to teach my first class in 18 months. Should be fun.

hey bro! i did not know you were back in kzoo. i was at bronco bash, with Novali. It was our stop off on the way to Saginaw today.

I have not had internet for 6 days now... and I can not get this wireless network at home to work... AH!

for sure... now I wish I could get this wireless to work. I can receive email now... but not send... what gives...

what are you doing this weekend? I will be rolling through kzoo if you want to accompany me to drop off novali. let me know.
