Probably like every mass phenoma - higher rated than they should have been, but still I think they were pretty damn good.

Yep, I think that if it wasn't for the massive media hype prior to their "invasion" (the movies, TV apperances, radio plugs, etc) the Beatles would've just been another English skiffle band.

Oh, and punk is so overrated it's ridiculous. But I'm not sure about U2. They sure can sell a mean iPod. :->

You know, when it comes to music is whether you like it or not, whether you enjoy it or not. I have no limitations, sometimes I feel like listening to country, sometimes even to Avril Lavigne, and then there are some other moments. It's how one feels. On the other hand, I am not an expert, so I really can't say what exactly was The Beatles' contribution to popular music. Just as I can't understand why Backstreet Boys' single I Want It That Way was considered as one of ten most influential songs of all times. N.

Maybe the ratings were overBeatled.
