Let the fun begin
02.07.2005Just got back my student evaluations from last semester. Looks like my year away from teaching didn't slow me down much. I was actually a bit worried about that. But I guess the fact that a dozen of my 250 students deliberately signed up for another semester w/ me in 345 says something. Overall? Encouraging. Especially early in a long 9-to-9 Monday.
And now, in 105, we're finally getting into logical fallacies. And y'all know how much I loves my logical fallacies. We're starting simple: ipse dixit and non sequitur.
Oh, and Battlestar Galactica repeat at 10pm. The second part to last week's cliffhanger.

I loves them logic fallacies, too.
But they've gotten me into trouble here in law school. Blew my mind, that in the courtroom sometimes logic is less persuasive than non-logic.

Hey Kristyn, Renee, and I signed up for 362 after having you for 250.
My favorite fallacies are red herring, ad hominem, and the this or that (I forgot the Latin words for it).

I think the red herring (non sequitur) is my favorite, too. Especially after South Park did the whole "Chewbaca defense" bit.
