Sick cats are no fun
02.24.2005Long night, w/ Sophie suddenly sick. Cleaning up cat vomit's never fun, especially after watching a watery eyed cat go into a weezing panic, spilling her insides all over herself. She finally stopped, and huddled by herself in a corner for the rest of the night. By morning, she was frisky, oblivious to anything. I hope it was just a freak thing, not a sign of worse to come.
Especially since I leave town on Saturday for spring break. I won't leave my cats w/ a sitter for several days if they're sick.
Meanwhile, I've collected most of my 345 papers. The 50+ papers'll make the bulk of my vacation-time reading (I've two 24-hour stints by train). As well as three weeks' worth of unread comics, and the much-recommended Reading Lolita in Tehran. In between all that, finish writing the MPSA paper and dissertation chapter 5. While Andy's at work, I'll try to get some work done at his apartment, then hang out w/ him in the evenings.
Tonight's a relaxing evening at home spent cleaning my apartment so it's presentable for cat-sitting, and washing linens (cat vomit).

For some reason I read that and thought 345 was the number of papers you had to grade. That was a bit scary.
If I don't see you before you take off I hope you have a great vacation.
Are you getting DC's Seven Soldiers?

Hi miguel, how are you?
A very cute picture of sophie, and please take her to the vet :( She might have ate something bad, if you have plants in the apt then nothing to worry about.
Also i've started Reading Lolita in Tehran. Its not bad, a lot different than how i view iran but its nice. Hope your trip goes well... Good luck on grading papers, and sorry I wont get a chance to come up and see you. Take care!

Sophie did throw up everything she ate that day, I think. But it wasn't quite as bad as all that. She seems fine now, and I'm watching her diet a bit more closely (putting the food down for a 15 mins, then throwing the leftover out, putting the dish away), since I wonder if maybe it was just that canned food shouldn't sit out so long.
Also, while both Annie & Sophie devoured the poultry canned food, they seem to only pick at the fish variety. I wonder if they're just not used to it (it's new). Maybe I should only give them poultry from now on?

I would be cool if you could bring them with you ... I wonder how Pumpkin and Mona would react to two new larger cats.
Travel safe. Make sure you call me and update me on any changes in arrival time. I'll be in Maryland this weekend and will head back on Sunday. I should be in Wilmington around 8pm. Plenty of time. :)
