Life w/ an air conditioner

07.11.2005

I pretty much disappeared into hermitage this weekend. Nothing but back to back West Wing episodes (w/ brief breaks for food) throughout. I'm caught up to the end of Season 2. The phone didn't ring, and I didn't feel like fighting comment spam. Plus, The West Wing is just that good, and that addictive. Wow. Why have I not been watching this the last few years?

My small kitchen herb garden's coming along in nicely, though it'll be a while before I can use any of my basil, parsley, oregano, or thyme for anything. I'm also hoping to grow a small lemon tree, to replace the once-beautiful cactus I accidentally killed (by over watering).

Other than that, not much else is new. I'm hoping to get about ten solid pages written by Friday evening; Saturday I hop a train to Chicago for the weekend. I also hope Netflix delivers Season 3, and I can watch it by the end of the week. I've also picked up a gig tutoring Spanish a few hours a week. I think this is a good thing, since it forces me to get work done before (or after) my midday meetings.

Also, I made cookies, from scratch.

PS: Kalamazoo to Chicago Amtrack fares are as low as $14. Well worth taking advantage of.

PSS: If you're not reading my mom's blog, you should.

PSSS: I also need a new cable modem. My power pack is kaput, making internet time at home very frustrating.
