07.19.2005Another great weekend in Chicago (Amtrak has $14 Kalamazoo-Chicago tickets). Despite the nearly unbearable heat. But I'll be back in lovely Kalamazoo again in a few hours. I was gonna take all these great pictures of Chicago — but I forgot my camera.
Two movies: 50 First Dates, slightly better than anticipated; The Wedding Crashers, slightly worse.
Thursday, Sam & Novalí will be in town. So I'll get to show my niece around Kalamazoo.

chicago - great city! was hot & a little bit icky weekend of July 4th, while I was there, but still, I was sad to see the buildings in my rear-view mirror.

I am in total agreement with your posts! I came across your page looking for other blogs in Kalamazoo where I also live. I can't believe you are on staff at WMU!!! Doesn't the rampant liberalism in academia drive you crazy?

Well, not sure about "rampant" liberalism, but yes, universities do tend to have an overtly left-liberal bias. Sometimes it does drive me crazy, but most of the time I can shrug it off w/ a smile. After all, it's not like academia's the "real' world, right?

I can't wait for tomorrow. She wore me out today running here and there... Thursday you get to help.
