Annie goes to the vet
10.05.2005This is the week of health, it seems. Yesterday I got my life insurance physical (yes, Mom, I finally listened to you). Today Annie went to the vet. Tomorrow it's Sophie's turn. They're both due for their 3 yrs rabies booster.
Good news is Annie's a svelte(r) 14 lbs (down from 22 lbs more than a year ago!). Bad news is Annie's got feline acne. A few weeks' once-a-day doses of 5mg Prednisolone should do the trick. There's also a slight gingivitis issue to deal w/, but at $150+ a procedure, that's gonna have to wait until 2006.
OK. Off to my new quiet, clean office to keep hammering out the intro to a very stubborn Chapter 2: Imagining Bolivia (think Benedict Anderson).

Our eight year old cat has arthritis. The shots are $28 a week. The damn cat can limp. Is that evil?

if your cats never go outside, they should not need rabies shots???? At least our old vet said that indoor cats don't need shots. On the other hand, Maybe I should come live with you and lose some weight.
