Retirement for Daniel
Yesterday was Daniel's last day of work. He last week at SVRC was emotional for him and I know he struggled with the idea of leaving behind a good paying and comfortable job. But things have worked out so that he trained his replacement and closed off the program that he was personally controlling. It was the one program that SVRC did not get the continuation bid for the next couple of years. For that reason alone, we knew that this was the time to make the transition. I remember how my last days of teaching were and how hard it was to shut the classroom door after a successful time of teaching. I know what he was going through and the struggle it was for him. We are trusting God to lead us in the months ahead as we start a new life together. We spendt last week at my brother John and his wife Bev's house and it was a good time having time just to talk and rekindle friendship that sometimes get clouded by busy schedules. Now we are Pratt Lake with my parents to spend time with them before leaving. This morning Daniel caught a big bass! A nice way to start retirement. So I must quickly close and get ready for fishing. If you haven't already, call Daniel and wish him 'happy retirement." Pray for us as we contintue to get ready to leave.
