The Rice Confirmation
After a delay caused by Congressional Democrats, Condoleezza Rice will be confirmed as Secretary of State this week. What do you think?

I don't want to come off as one of those bleeding-heart liberal democrat types that seem to recieve too much press these days, but I can't agree with Condi as a good choice for Secretary of State. First of all, she has that ambiguosly decieving demeanor that is so popular with the Bush administration. The reason the democrats gave her such a hard time before her inaugaration was because there were so many discrepencies between what she says today and what she's said in the past about the war in Iraq. She say's that now is the time for a more bilateral approach to bringing democracy to the Middle East, but wasn't she a strong supporter of the unilateral decisions that got us into this mess in the first place? The United States Secretary of State should be a trustworthy, righteous representative of our country. She's an incredibly smart woman, her educational and professional record will prove that, but I would feel much better if she would own up to some of her mistakes instead of always side-stepping the subject.
I think that her credibility is shot with the American people... or is it? The general public tends to like liars and re-elect officials that never take responsibility for their actions or decisions!
