I have just posted the paper assignment instructions on the website. Also, I've updated the course description to include a breakdown of the grading system. Let me know if you have any questions.

Welcome to our class weblog. I encourage all of you to post comments, questions, criticisms, witicisms, or euphamisms related to the class readings and/or discussions. If there is a part of the assigned reading you have problems with (e.g. you don't understand it, you disagree with it, it just doesn't make sense), please feel free to post that here. It will allow me to know what kinds of things to adderss in class and it allows other students to post if they have similar concerns or if they can help you out in some way. Likewise, if you have a particular insight into some part of the assigned reading (e.g. something that you know from another class, a book you read, the History Channel) feel free to share that, too. Basically, this is online class discussion.

Remember, that this will contribute to the participation portion of your grade (which is, in total, worth 20 percent of your grade). Try to keep your comments on topic and related to classwork (i.e. not personal chit chat). That also means that you should respect other people's posts.

Be sure that you hit the "Post & Publish" button after you type your post. You can always go back and edit your own posts (but not other people's). If you need help using Blogger, go to their help page. Always, feel free to email me if you have any questions. Ciao!
