SUSPENSION
AND BRAKES
Summer is nearly over, but I finally got my suspension and
brakes done. I spent my time and realy looked for the components
that I wanted for my car.

The first
piece of the puzzle that I got this summer was my PowerSlot
Slotted Rotors. These rotors would hold up much better during
Autocross events. I paired the slotted rotors with street
performance brake pads, the Hawk HPS pads from GSpec Racing.
For the suspension I decided to sell my
Progress Springs when I found a great deal on a used full
racing set up. Someone on my car forum was selling the perfect
set up for my street and autox car. The set up is now on
my car and consists of Koni Yellow Adjustable Struts mounted
with Eibach Sportline springs.
The set up lowers my car by 2 inches, and
will give me a lot better cornering and steering response.
The ride in the city will be a little stiff, but it will
be worth it on the track.
The new brake set up will stand up to the
high heat of Autocrossing the car, the factory brakes did
not hold up very well. So now I have the best of both worlds...
plus the new pads won't get my rims as dirty!
I also
did a few other upgrades this summer. I bought headlights
from an SER (sports model), installed fog lights, and made
a custom grill for the front. The car is really starting
to come together now. But as you know... I am not done yet...
